أ- المعلومات والمفاهيم :    

3.a.1   Identify the normal development, structure 

           and function of the human integumentary  

            system on the macro and microscopic levels.

3.a.2    Describe morphological and histopathological 

            terms in dermatology.

3.a.3  Review ethical guidelines for dermatology

          practice

3.a.4   Recognize basic and advancedlab

           investigations, histopathological techniques,

           genetic studies, molecular tests  and recent

            methods of data collection used in diagnosis   

           of various dermatologic diseases, and review

            the uses, advantages and disadvantages of each one of  them. 

3.a.5 Identify basics of molecular biology and genetic aspects of skin diseases, with a hint on the new advances in this field.

3.a.6  Describe  the causes and precipitating factors of various dermatological diseases.

3.a.7 Discuss various therapeutic methods alternatives and in label and off label indications, contraindications, mechanism of action, interactions, side effects and uses and identify newly discovered therapies.

3.a.8 Recognize the pathogenesis of common skin diseases with discussion of recently proposed hypotheses in a given disease.

3.a.9 Discuss diagnosis of various dermatological illnesses and assessment  of disease activity.

3.a.10 Select the appropriate management of various skin diseases.

3.a.11 Discuss basic knowledge and advances in cosmetic procedures, surgical dermatology and laser therapies.

3.a.12. Recognize the basics, fundamentals, ethics and different tools of scientific research.

ب- المهارات الذهنية  :

3.b.1  Analyse dermatological and histopathological data using an integrated multidisciplinary approach, applying professional judgments to critically evaluate data.

3.b.2  Use  the available datato choose the suitable and cost effective lab test for diagnosing of skin diseases.

3.b.3  Analyze the available datato choose the most suitable and cost effective therapeutic option for different skin diseases.

3.b.4  Evaluate cases of infectious diseases and assess infectivity of these cases

3.b.5 Synthesize an effective diagnostic and therapeutic plan.

3.b.6 Analyse and criticize scientific issues and express the opinions based on scientific evidences and proofs.

3.b.7 Evaluate the indications and the risk of any intervention (biopsy taking, medical treatment, physical treatment, cosmetic procedure or dermatologic surgery) according to the procedure and the general condition of the patient and prepare plans to manage complications.

3.b.8. Plan, conduct and write-up a program of original research.

3.b.9. Manage the communication skills, thesis writing, scientific publication, written and oral reports, teamwork for oral (PowerPoint) presentations.

جـ- المهارات المهنية الخاصة بالمقرر 

3.c.1 Collect necessary data during history taking by asking focused questions to help the patient to recall all important data which may help in managing the case and manage the conversation professionally to exclude unimportant data.

3.c.2 Examine  skin, hair, nails, mucous membranes and lymph nodes with perfection and discriminate between normal and abnormal findings.

3.c.3 Perform basic and advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures with perfection such as biopsy taking, nail scraping, KOH staining, hair pull test, electrocautery and LASER treatment of hirsutism, scars and vascular lesions.

3.c.4 Write medical reports efficiently.

3.c.5 Evaluate  medical reports referred from colleagues

3.c.6 Apply methods and tools existing in the area of Dermatology

3.c.7 use sterile, safe techniques and infection control guidelines according to international principles during examination or application of any procedure to avoid transmission of infections
