2.a.1. Illustrate structure of bacteria and virus. 2.a.2. List antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral agentsand describe the mechanism of their action and side effects. 2.a.3. Describe the most important methods of decontamination, sterilization and principles of infection control. 2.a.4. Enumerate the normal skin flora and state the importance of it. 2.a.5. Classify microbial organisms affecting skin, mucous membranes and genital organs and outline the diagnosis, treatment, prevention and control of the most likely organisms causing such diseases of each of them. 2.a.6. Describe different types of hypersensitivity reactions 2.a.7. Discuss tumor immunology. 2.a.8. Explain autoimmune diseases in dermatology and andrology based on knowledge of basic immunology. |

ب- المهارات الذهنية : |
2.b.1. Choose the best method of disinfection and sterilization in different situations. 2.b.2. Select the suitable antibacterial, antiviral or antifungal agent to deal with certain organism according to the mechanism of action of the agent and the structure of the organism. |

جـ- المهارات المهنية الخاصة بالمقرر: |
2.c.1. Use microscopic examination to identify medically important bacteria based on stained preparations. 2.c.2. Identify a Gram stain and a Ziehl-Neelsen stain. 2.c.3. Choose commonly used culture media , biochemical tests and serological tests for diagnosis of diseases. 2.c.4. Apply various sterilization processes and simple infection control measures 2.c.5 Write and evaluate medical reports. |

2.d.1. Respect patients’ rights and involve them and /or their caretakers in management decisions. 2.d.2. Upgrade knowledge and practice by continuous learning and seeking recent advances in diagnosis and treatment of various conditions from different information sources 2.d.3. Respect the role and the contributions of other health care professionals regardless their degrees or rank (top management, subordinate or colleague) and evaluate their performance. 2.d.4. Conduct counseling sessions for prevention & control of different conditions for healthy individuals, for patients as well as their families . |
